I was mainly a dixieland and older jazz player, and it fit in well. Use a smaller size mouthpiece for brighter bittyer jazz playing, or a deeper larger cup for more classical orchestral playing. (YEAH a King snob like me actually likes the Yamaha now)Īnyway - this is a real good "middle of the road" horn. It is the yellow brass plating, I am no longer playing as I am getting older and slowing down, I am now playing mainly locally and I have a brand new Yamaha pro-model. I am finally parting with my 1992 King 3B - I have played this horn for a little over 20 years, it has seen well over 2500 jobs thru the US and Canada, in that time.
